5 out of 5 stars Grammy 2010 Nominations   March 5, 2010
Patricia L. Oetken (USA)
This is a fabulous CD - I had already purchased a number of the songs as singles, but it's so wonderful to put on the CD and listen to the best of the year in review. I wasn't sure buying this CD was a good idea, but no regrets here.

5 out of 5 stars All the big hits in one neat package that benefits MusiCares!   January 24, 2010

All the big hits in one neat package that benefits MusiCares!

I few years ago the Recording Academy (what used to be know as NARAS) began issuing Grammy Nominee compilations with the proceeds going to the MusiCares program, which helps artists with health care and financial assistance. This is the latest entry.

Of course, like the Prime Time TV telecast (where only the pop, rock, rap and country awards are shown) and even the Lifetime Achievement honorees are given almost no face time (a brief camera shot before a commercial), the CD only covers those genres. (And rap only gets in if its in the Album of the Year category.

But, getting record companies to cross license to allow a nearly complete package is something to be thankful for. Only ONE artist is missing from the nominees for Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Album, Best Female Poop Vocal Performance, Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal and, Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal. That is a track from Brooks & Dunn (who are dissolving and obviously don't care).

Think of this as a time capsule that you can put away and - 25 years from now (assuming we still have the players to play CDs on) - you can look back and tell your kids "we used to listen to a female named Lady GaGa and dance to a funky group called The Black Eyed Peas."

Its all for a good cause and at least SOME of these tracks will be Grammy WINNERS!

If you've been behind this year. Pick up this cd to catch up. I love that they compiled all of this music together and made it easy to hear the gamut of what is popular right now by buying one album.

4 out of 5 stars Something For Everyone....me, my 15 & 23yr old kids & even my 68yr old father!   February 18, 2010

There is something on this CD that everyone will like. I love most of the songs, my 15yr old son has his favorites, my 23yr old daughter tried to walk out of the house with it and when I had it playing in my car, my 68yr old father was bouncing his head around to the beat....something I've never seen him do!

I have bought these CD's each year they came out and this is really good!
